The second although does NOT have CP forged pistons does have the Nitrated STI crank, is OEM, and is cheaper. I would still check into rebuilding your current block and upgrade ALL of the internals cheaper than either of those two options. Terry If you woke up today, you have another chance to do it right. Max Capacity Posted July 14, 2012 Share Posted July 14, 2012 I paid $1880 for a brand new OEM EJ257 short block from the local Subaru dealer. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
