Timing belt parts sourcing question

Recommended Posts

Recommendation for work done.

I'm having a shop do my 120K and replace the timing belt/water pump.

I was quoted $465 for the belt/pump assembly:

T-belt tensioner $100.00

Timing belt $80.00

Cogged roller $30.00

Small roller $35.00

2 smooth rollers $70.00

Water pump $120.00

Thermostat assembly $30

(+ tax) and essentially I was wondering if I sourced the parts myself if I could save some money.

What do you guys think? Unfortunately I don't know much about the manufacturers to know what kits are good and which aren't.
