Where does Enkei say MAT involves forging?

MAT Technology

Enkei developed a new manufacturing process to produce the next aluminum wheel generation. The Most Advanced Technology (M.A.T) combines one-piece cast wheel technology with a rim forming technology called spinning process. Using this new technology of casting and rim forming by M.A.T process, is critical to improve drastically the material property and strength of the wheels. Rim-Rolled technology shapes the rim to improve material elongation without sacrificing the wheels hardness.

So, nowhere?

You have to click the tab on the right to get this info, but in there is:

Enkei Racing Series wheels are manufactured using the MAT (Most Advanced Technology) process. MAT is a new technology for producing an aluminum wheel by combining Enkei's MAP (Most Advanced Production) and flow-forming forging technology. MAP is a highly automated system. Each process is connected in a single-piece flow system that transports wheels from the melting process, through heat treatment and on to machining. The process of spinning the rim vs. casting it to both shape and elongate it produces a finer, more even aluminum structure and ensures the wheel will remain lightweight yet strong. The complete MAT process has a drastic impact on the microstructure of aluminum and results in outstanding improvement of the mechanical property of the material.

Spinning = rotary forging

  • I Donated Too
They look exactly like the Bremmerkraft BR-05's that tirerack discontinued recently. Nice looking wheel.http://http//wheelandtirepros.com/BremmerKraft/BremmerKraftBR05BrightSilver.jpghttp://wheelandtirepros.com/BremmerKraft/BremmerKraftBR05BrightSilver.jpg

The TSW spin forging and Enkei MAT are the same thing AFAIK. I wouldn't be suprised to hear these came out of the same factory or at least similar equipement. I've had MAT wheels, and have the TSW's - it's a cost effective way to make a light strong wheel.

Is this pic still with your stock ride height? I was contemplating a set of those but I'm still undecided. Looks really nice!!

Thank you Sir........even more contemplating knowing your at stock height! I just lowered my car a tad with the Epic/Koni setup.

How do you like the Epic/Koni setup? Does it ride nice? I am looking to lower mine sometime soon, Just waiting to find the right setup for a daily.

Well, went ahead and splurged on a set of these bad boys. 18x8 wrapped in Conti DW 225/40/18. Also installed Tein H-Techs. Couldn't be happier with the looks or the ride quality and performance...
