BatChips107
My batmobile (LGT) against a guy in a 350z... We went from a dead stop with a clear street ahead. (BTW: im stock haha).. First gear, ME.... Second gear, ME....Third gear, ME, until 75-80mph.... then he went by.. not bad for a sedan against a car that was made for racing.
deimos
Give some more details, how far were you ahead at each gear, and at what point did the Z pass and how far did he get? Otherwise nice run.
LEGGTLTD
Yeah, they're not that fast. I ran up against one and boy was he surprised. Told him he needed a turbo Megan header,Perrin TMIC, TD06-20G,AEM CAI, Lachute DP, Avo BOV, BC Coilovers, Magnaflow catback, Hawk HPS pads, Stoptech lines, Snow WI
AWDxBOOST
yep...i got one when i was stock as a rock by 2 cars from a stop up to 50mph.... i raced him again with st2...and damn, that was a raping
fzanetti
How much hp does a 350Z put out? The G35 Sportster edition puts out 298 @ the crank, however can't do lower than 15 1/4 mile and 6.2 secs 0-60... So, 350 would a little slower than a G35 I d assume... AWDxBOOST
z does 0-60 in 5.4, but thats factory ratings and we all know how accurate those are...more realistic is about 5.7 or so 280hp, the new 35th ann edition gets 300hp, but thats only the 6sp model...id expect and 1/4 mile on a stock z to be in the low 14s with the stock tire...they are hard to launch. with just a test pipe ive seen one do a 13.2...the exhaust is the most restrictive part...but then again thats a test pipe...no one would run that on the street i work at a subaru/nissan dealership btw
deimos
The newest 06 MT Z's with 300hp (more high end power) are running 5.8 0-60 and 14.2-3 in the 1/4. The quickest Zs that were tested by the mags were the earlier Track Pack editions, which pulled the 5.4 to 60 and maybe 13.8-9 in the 1/4. The 06 G35 with 298 hp, if 6MT are pulling similar number to the new Z with 5.8 to 60 and 1/4 at 14.2 @ 99. All should be good driver races with a 5MT LGT, with the LGT taking the lead off the line and the others catching up up top.
fzanetti
Thanks itr_eg... This is great info... I really thought the G35 would be a little slower, due to more gimmicks and small things that have in additional to the 350Z... But I have seen a mot of Z's automatic and of course those #s are a lot worse with auto...Even using the same 5EAT auto trannie as the LGT, made by JATCO!!! wunderkind
IIRC, the 300hp VQ35 cars traded torque for high hp count. This proves that HP sells.
BatChips107
I was a good car ahead of him in first and lil more in second... he passed me at like 80mph.. however i didnt take it further than that... so i dont know if could have kept up with him in the high end... and yes HP SELLS.. im with that guy

BatChips107
yeah he passed me after 80... but i wasnt really on it anymore... i was a car ahead until 60.. then he started getting even with me from there and then took the lead after 80... so i supposed i wouldnt have kept up with him after 80.. You lost, bro. Up to 80mph isn't even a full 1/4 mile run. I get the feeling the 350z is stronger than some folks around here want to give it credit for. I get the feeling the 350z is stronger than some folks around here want to give it credit for. EXACTLY. I find it a bit humorous...there's a ton of misinformation here about the car's (350Z's) performance. These people who are "speculating" need to go to a track. They run low to mid 5's to 60 mph and high 13's @ 100+ at the tracks. They are faster than a stock LGT And the "03 Cobra couldn't shake me in 5 miles" comment was funny too. The Cobra driver was just toying with him.

KTM 525
There was a 350Z at the track the night I ran my LGT. He was running 14.5's@100 to my 14.1's@96. Do the math 4mph =more HP period. Traction was not his friend that night and in the end if we lined up he would lose every single run.
fzanetti
It makes sense, once the G35 is heavier and more gimmicks than the 350Z... ;-) Flavio Zanetti Boston, MA

But they've (on average) .5-1 mph faster trap speeds than I at Stage 1. But a track and on the street are two different things. A 350Z is as fast (actually a bit quicker) than a Stage 1 LGT it just doesn't have the AWD launching advantage....or the AWD high speed acceleration disadvantage either. And if drifting is your game, they make damn good drifting cars too.
phuzaxeman
i've pulled a 350 dead start buy a couple of cars. i did have a near perfect launch and he may have been an auto. I went to about 90ish before we both slowed down (i still had the lead). edmunds tests(http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=104196/pageId=62010) the 350z at 14.59 1/4 and 5.9 0-60. these cars are pretty close.
