03outbckltdsdn99lgcygtsdn
i have a 99 leg gt with a injen cold air intake for a 99 impreza 2.5rs, i need a new injen filter so for the time being im using a weapon r filter off there short ram. lately if i accelerate hard with the peddle to the floor the car bogs and feels like its starving for fuel and the at trans temp lite flashes. shut off the car and restart it the light stops flashing and it doesnt store a code. any suggestions or is it just using a weapon r foam filter rather then a injen traditional material filter making the diff? TbirdMan
hmm, are you sure it is the trans temp light? the filter should not be affecting the trans system. If it is the check engine light I would say it sounds like a textbook air leak in the intake causing a lean condition and a misfire. try checking all your fittings and such in the intake system. johnegg
there are several CEL engine issues that will also throw a AT Temp light, MAF and TPS are 2 but there are others.

03outbckltdsdn99lgcygtsdn
it is the at oil temp lite, ive spent a few years working at a gm dealer and have a automotive backround with some schooling. it does seem like a misfire so im leaning towards the air flow allowed with a foam filter is just too much
03outbckltdsdn99lgcygtsdn
yea its the at oil temp lite i know what im looking at, pretty sure the foam filter is just allowing more air flow then the stock fuel system and management cant handle. I Donated broknindarkagain Posted January 18, 2012 I Donated Share Posted January 18, 2012 Doubt it....because I've ran short ram intakes without a filter in the past with no issues. If anything filter related, its not allowing enough air into the system. Take a look at the engine FAQ. There is a list of stuff in the MPG section....go through that list and do all of it. Most of its cheap or free things. -broknindarkagain My Current Project - Click Here COME AND TAKE IT "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
