Stasis
Wiring is easy business if you're patient xD I know the other style of fogs and well I love the jdm fogs tbh.
miggz411
i think ima just keep them stock and get purple HID's and put some smoked tint film over them when i get the chance.. yeah the jdm fogs are the shit btw
eekay
Don't put HIDs into non-projector housing! Not only is it illegal, it is extremely irritating for other drivers on the road. Plus, it'll probably burn/melt your headlights... My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!

After driving with jdm fogs and the 'normal black ones' the jdm's blow them out of the water, especially with the turning light. The hid's will look tragic in the us stock light and tinting them also is tragic. Purple hid's could look good, if in a proper projector. Don't do a half arse job, either get the jdm's and do the hid's or do neither.

Agreed if ur gonna do just HID I suggest doing a 5% tint to the windows so the people you piss off wont see you and track you down
GTride05
Good info here. So im looking to buy a 95-99 legacy and i want to do the HID headligts. Is it just replacing the old housings and installing HIDs? Also is it possible to install fogs on a stabdard legacy with no fogs?

TexasLegacy2.5GT
Get the projectors and call it a day. Once you get them running right they are way better then the regular halogens.

eekay
Hrm. I was under the impression the wiring was already there and just unused. Generally, with the second generations especially, the wiring is almost ALWAYS there. It just needs to be plugged in/hooked up. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters! eekay
I'm not 100% sure. But seems Subaru didn't skimp on the wiring. Heated seat wiring is there even if they didn't come with it. Same with power mirrors (not sure on heated...) It's certainly worth a shot to take a look at. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters! I was going to install fogs but never got around to looking into the wiring part Wiring for the fogs is found on the Lsi wagons. Legacy L wagons are usually not pre-wired for fog lamps. I spent weeks searching for a fog lamp harness and this is what I have found. By no means are my observations absolute. I have seen 95 Lsi wagons with fog lamp projectors installed and the wiring harness is wrapped up with the 'main' harness. I have also seen 96 Lsi wagons that do not have fog lamps installed and are pre-wired for fog lamps with the wiring harness as a separate unit that goes through the center firewall. From my limited understanding, some of the Lsi wagons had fog lamps as an option and were pre-wired. I have pics of how the harness is plugged in to the connections under the steering wheel if anyone wants to see them. This may be the easiest way to install fog lamps w/o a separate OEM harness which I found on nasioc: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2234607
TexasLegacy2.5GT
@ Monkey, wow that is awesome! So I wonder how the jap speck GT-B have the wiring for the fogs + the two rally lights that are in the center of the bumper. Do they have two separate switches? http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/C1CB976B.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/2264E7C8.jpg
eekay
The GT-B's I've seen have two different switches, yes. However, I'm not sure if the center lights' switch was stock or not. TexasLegacy2.5GT
Eekay, well if they came from the factory with that bumper (two sets of lights) wouldnt the switch BE "stock" equipment?
eekay
Not sure, really. I don't know if the person wired them up to not work with the fogs or not. Know what I mean? My guess is yes. It was the stock setup. The blank button on the left of the steering wheel was used. So, he had a fog light switch and a rally/hella light switch. Was pretty sweet. TexasLegacy2.5GT
Man I'd love to see a pic of that stock set up!! Till then I'd have to live with my mock set up and just dream about it... http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/D1D8C167-orig.jpg
eekay
Looks pretty good, really! Of course, you need to know which is which. IIRC, the center/rally icon on the switch looked similar to the fogs but pointed straight forward instead of down. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters! eekay
I'm sure they're around. However, I haven't got the slightest clue as to what they're actually called/named. Someone else can probably chime in with that information. My 9.3 cups EJ22 makes me feel like my **** is 2.8 decimeters!
miggz411
hey guys, what if i paint the OEM headlight housing black it won't drastically dim my high beams right?? i think ima try that on my old head lights first to see how it comes out. Stasis
The driving lights are pretty rare to see to be honest, i've only ever seen people with aftermarkets here on import gtb's. When indicating the outer lights attached to fogs light the corner if you have parking or lows on though (even if fogs are off) Can take some pictures if you want to see how it looks
