Just installed Apexi EL Boost Gauge

Legasee

Recommended Posts

Wow, did I miss the announcement that today was the official "Install your Boost Gauge" day? That's a good looking gauge and clean install. Can you see your tach behind it?

Ya...these pics were taken with the camera BELOW my eye level...I'm 5'4" and sit with da gangsta lean  and can still see most of the left side of the tach...love the size and the colors are somewhat similar to factory gauges...I like em...good price too (low $100's) plus you don't need to spend extra to buy a "brain" to use them...they're mechanical so just plug and play :D

Don't you *hate* that parking light switch? If it wasn't there, it would make my gauge-installing-life easier.

Can you take a picture pointing down onto the steering column, so you can show us the mounting and how close you are to the switch?

Thanks.

haha...yup..hate that useless switch  ...it's right next to it.

I have the Defi cgauge mount cup on it cuz I was gonna mount it at right of the A-pillar on the dash, but then felt that dash did not have wide enough gaps and might pinch the vaccum line so we then mounted it on the steering wheel thingy.

It came out perfect; the gauge is nice and big, and it's not sticking out on the dash like a sore thumb (I was waiting for the custom-made 60mm gauge holder from subiegal and AVO, but do'nt knwo when that's happening)...

I'll take mor pics :)

Wow, your gauge matches the factory colors really good!!...where did you run the vaccum run through? Any pinching of the hose? thanks!

I ran it through the little space between the door opening and the hood. No pinching so far. Here's a couple of pics:

I'll try to find a better space if the avo pod doesn't hide the hose better.

Need your help guys!

I'll be installing a boost gauge next week (when I get some time). But I found 2 places that people hook up the hose at:

This from Jedimaster:

and this from AVO's instructions:

Does anyone know if one place is better than another? Or does it matter where? Thanks!
