mumblinaviator
My rims have quite a bit of rash from the previous owner (I swear), and some spots along the spokes that look like pitting. Sorry no pictures yet... fairly common wheel wear though by the looks of it. The rash is tough... I could sand and fill and paint, but I don't want to pain the whole rim. What about the pitting? Anything I can do/use to "buff 'em out"? Thanks
OCDetails
Pitting is rough. Not a whole lot you can do for it at that point. You could sand it down and repaint, but that is about it. The damage you have is beyond 'detailing' and has gone into the 'restoration' side of the house. Since you are going to have to paint if you restore the curb rash anyway, it wouldn't be too much more effort to repaint the pitted areas after prepping it. Its actually easier to do that than the lip since you don't have to take the tire off to do it. Technically you don't have to take the tire off for the lips either, but it is a lot easier and will look better when you are done if you do. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S .
