OutbackXT05
Doing good so far. Have about 1300 miles on the rebuild with zero issues besides me being a idiot and putting the upper radiator hose on backwards and not noticing the fan was rubbing on it. I just put new gauges in yesterday. Got an aem wideband and boost gauge. I finally have all my parts for going stage 3. Been a year and a half since I bought my first stg 3 part so finally I think its going to happen. http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/AEMgauges_zps01ed55cd.jpg
OutbackXT05
.I never did put up any rebuild pics so here's a couple. Stock compression CP 99.5mm pistons and arp head studs. http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo6_zps9b96b56d.jpg Killer B oil pick up http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo3_zps8faf0912.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo1_zps21757b14.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo9_zps97515a55.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo2-2_zpsdef9c158.jpg
OutbackXT05
I don't really have any good pics of the car now but this was the first wash after it was running. Got the legacy rails on it too. http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo5_zpse3ddc916.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo4_zps0d3a7cd7.jpg

BAC5.2
I'm on the fence about the LGT wagon rails. I like the look, but I'm not sure I could justify the price. xt2005bonbon
OP, did you do the complete rebuild yourself (e.g. put the heads back on the block, etc..)?
OutbackXT05
OP, did you do the complete rebuild yourself (e.g. put the heads back on the block, etc..)? Yessir. I just had the block bored/honed and the crank polished. From there i did it myself. I was really surprised how long the shortblock took to be put back together. OutbackXT05
I'm on the fence about the LGT wagon rails. I like the look, but I'm not sure I could justify the price. I was in the same situation. Ive been wanting them since i bought the car. They are pricey and take a while to install but i like the more sleek look so i had to finally do it. Sideways the Seven
LGT rails look good but for some reason the OBXT rails match better with the flares and stuff IMO. Still love this car. You still going to try the 275s? Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2 -Brandon 2007 Chevrolet Suburban LT3 1981 Chevrolet C10 LWB
OutbackXT05
Im not trying 275s anytime soon because these tires have a whole lot of life left in them
Sideways the Seven
Cool. I've been eyeing a set, but I'm concerned about rubbing. They're pretty flush with the fenders as they are. OutbackXT05
Well I went all out yesterday and did everything all at once. Put my clutch masters fx300 in, dw 740cc injectors, GS ebc, EL headers, KS Tech 73mm intake, fmic, Blouch 20gXT 8cm. And that I could tell as of last night everything looks to be doing good. Doesnt look to shabby for being on 3 motors and having over 200 launches on it. http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo2-2_zpsc2ca7652.jpg The new one. I must say the lightest pedal feel ever. And engagement feels just like stock. No chatter or anything. Will see once its broken in if anything changes. http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/ae94909a-12d1-4eb7-80a1-924c73ae3aab_zpsbbd7007f.jpg The new snail http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo1_zps176e1f36.jpg http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/tt307/fibtlcivic/photo1_zpscc317e29.jpg
xt2005bonbon
You have officially been stung by the mod bug. Which flywheel are you using? Did you also change it when you put the fx300?
OutbackXT05
Its the single mass wrx flywheel. I just got it resurfaced. The fx300 has been sitting under my bed for a year and i bought my first part for going stage 3 a year and a half ago so its been a long time comming. USAFOBXT
Hey man, I just bought a 2005 obxt and I'm trying to lower it. Would legacy coils fit?? Thanks
CDKJudoka
Hey man, I just bought a 2005 obxt and I'm trying to lower it. Would legacy coils fit?? Thanks Legacy struts w/ Legacy coils would drop it nicely. The OBWs get a lot of their lift from the struts, not so much the springs. 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
OutbackXT05
Yup im currently on legacy spec coilovers. Its the same thing with a shorter shock body on the coilover.
Scooby2.5
Here is the other part of what lifts the outback and its fairly inexpensive to get all the parts from a salvage car. OutbackXT05
Thanks. I thought it was the end of the world because there were 2 modded outbacks in one spot.
Eye4nEye
Looks very good. Im very impressed with your whole build. Did you ever think about leaving your stock mud flaps on and then putting the rally armors on?
OutbackXT05
I think ive seen that done once or twice here and didnt like it too much. Looks kinda funny. If the oem mudflaps were molded into the body itd fit better tho.
