scottyg7171
Hey everyone, I just bought an 09 Legacy 2.5i Special Edition last week with an extended bumper to bumper warranty of 6 years or 100,000 miles. Now this car will primarily be for transportation to work and school but I still wanna look fly, ya know ? Does anyone know of any mods I would be able to do while still staying in the boundaries of the warranty ? Thanks, scottyg7171
LosAngelesLGT
major appearance mods? Start with TINTED WINDOWS and WHEELS/TIRES and CANS (mufflers or full catback) go from there as a no brainer. Those are the BIGGEST visual mods to start with. HID headlamps, LED headlamp halo, clear corners, tinted tails, etc etc etc

Definitely do the tint and the wheels first!
GEE-OTTO
Tint them windows but you probably will want to stay away from drivetrain mods (not that many if any exist) Axleback mufflers are nice

LosAngelesLGT
Oh yeah, I forgot the Diode Dynamics Interior LED kit to replace the oem dim bulbs. $40 and a big change. Obviously lowering springs will begin to void the warranty if you have any suspension related issues or issues from changing the steering geometry. scottyg7171
did u buy the extended warranty from the dealership? and if so how much did u pay? Sorry for the dead thread. I payed I think just under 1000 bucks for the extended warranty and it drags the b2b up to 2015 if im not mistaken and 100,000 miles. seemed like a relatively good deal to me. haven't had to use it yet tho!! scottyg7171
Here's an update on everything so far: -Cleared and Blacked out headlights -3m carbon vinyl interior trim pieces -swift lowering springs on stock struts -tinted windows -DIY (garage door seal) front lip spoiler (ghetto but has saved my ass multiple times and still looks great) -Round carbon fiber shift knob (brand unknown) -painted caliper (gold) No performance mods as of yet, and not really planning on doing much considering it's my DD and will be slow as hell anyway. Mostly just aesthetic.
Gire
Upgrade your suspension. sway bars, struts, springs. New wheels are an obvious choice. This will net a 2.5i a huge handling improvement and if the dealership tells you that an engine or transmission problem was a result of that, tell them to pound sand. Lowered with nice aftermarket wheels is the quickest way to get you noticed in a crowd- and makes any car look better.
scottyg7171
Ya, i'm looking to get wheels next but can't decide what i'm diggin, ya know?
Gire
It's a tough process for sure. I understand. I'm such a wheel snob- they have to be the perfect set and match for the car, or I'm not satisfied.
scottyg7171
I am the same way. I look every day and always change my mind. I think it really depends on the specific car. For example, right now i'm really liking the chrome rpf1's that jabronee is reppin, but he's the only leggy i've really seen to pull off chrome. I am just not sure if i could pull the chrome look off. He's also got a very aggressive setup: 19x9.5 I would be looking at something more like 18x8.
