Ill be doing the bulk of the heavy lifting with a little help(friends including erik if he can). Women will do the organizing and un-packing of boxes. But couches/beds/tables/dressers are all me.

Decent amount of snow today. Enough to play around a little bit.

I spent some quality time in my neighborhood. I-mode with TCS off makes for LOADS of fun. I don't think I hit boost once. Just ease into the throttle and keep a nice smooth arc through the sweeping streets.

It's amazing how people tense up and get in accidents when it snows. Just relax and ease up, and you'll find the car dances like a ballerina!

I'll be going out in my bob sled (the MB) soon... I am dead scared at the moment because of all the accident reports on I95 and 32... un-freakin-believable at how most of these drivers are issued licenses to drive. It should be more stringent like in Germany, to get a license.

We have a similar commute for part of our drives. When I got onto 32 from 95, oh man, it was insane.

Imagine, if you will, the whole of 32 going 20mph. From I95 to 108 (my exit).

When I pulled onto 95, I was extremely fortunate. I found JUST the break in traffic I needed to jump over to the left lane in front of one of the plow trucks. A second later, and I would have been stuck in the idiot cloud following the spreaders at 10mph. From 95 to 32, it was smooth sailing at 65mph with nothing but a LITERAL SEA of headlights hiding scared behind the plows.

Then, on 32, I played leap frog with a G35X as we left-laned it passed the worry-warts.

Finally, I got on 108, the last leg of my drive home. I'm in a 6 car long slow down. The lead car? A WRX!

Must have been a noob.

It was an awfully frustrating drive home. On some of the extra wide sections of 108, near those new developments, I was swerving to see just how much slip angle VDC would allow. At least that was fun.

Got home, shoveled the drive, then towed a Benz out of the FLAT neighborhood. Literally, almost zero incline.

The noobness was strong today too:

Then I saw a UPS truck drift out of one of the side streets, and nearly take out a mailbox... then he tried drifting around the traffic circle.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hoping we get to see some here in DC. Forecast models have been all over, slowly aligning, but so far nothing yet. Big push isn't till Sunday afternoon though. If there is white stuff on the ground in the region...I'll be showing live:

I'll be in the Subie.
