David E
Did a quick search for info on brighter reverse and didn't find a good answer. Anyone found a brighter bulb or solution that won't melt my car? 99 Legacy/Outback Limited Wagon.
subikid90
LEDs, I think I had 36 LED 1156 bulbs in my reverse lights. I had the warm white so it wasnt ricer, I cant say whether it was that much brighter though. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
fwa2500
i think they are 21w bulbs normally, my jdm fogs came with 35w bulbs of the same size in the outer reflector lights (which i dont use) so i just swapped them into the reverse lights. i have tried to find somewhere that sells 35w bulbs in that size but i have not had any success
SpecBGuy
i changed my reverse light and turn signal bulbs to this [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Polarg-Clear-Hybrid-Replacement-Light/dp/B001GNLWW0/ref=sr_1_66?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1288722893&sr=1-66]Amazon.com: Polarg L07 Clear 921 16W Hybrid Lens Type Replacement Light Bulb: Automotive[/ame] its really bright
98quiksilvergt
I'm using silverstar bulbs. They are definitly brighter than the stock bulbs.
ehsnils
An alternative would be to mount fog lights for front use facing rear. Just make sure that they are fed through a sufficient cable and a relay. Stock cables are a tad thin.
Stang70Fastback
Use LED bulbs. They suck in other parts of the car where the lenses need to reflect the light correctly, but in the reverse-light setup where they aim straight back, they work wonders. I've actually had people compliment my reverse lights, lol.
pillboy
My LED back-up lamps suck ass. OEM were brighter. It is still ugly.
