JB3
Trying to wire up a new stereo - everything is good except for the orange wire on the Subie harness. Says it's for illumination. anyone know exactly what that means? I don't really fiddle with stereo stuff to much so I'm not familiar.
proflatlander15
It is for dimming purposes. It adjusts the brightnes of the screen. I am pretty sure if you don't hook it up it will be at max brightness, it just won't be adjustable. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
98quiksilvergt
Correct. It dims the light on the head unit when you turn your head lights on. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd104/thrty5thsc/64e06a6a.jpg
JB3
awesome - thanks. Came up with another. I have a L GT wagon with the tweeters in the door. Is there a crossover somewhere and if so, where is it?
skibob6
Wish i had this when i installed my deck. I just did it from memory, I did pretty good too, except somehow I managed to get all my speakers crossed up so my speakers fade diagonally in stead of front to back and left to right. Does anyone have the diagrams of the 7 speaker stereo with the sub under the driver seat and the disc changer under the passenger seat? when I installed my deck and kicker i just left my stock sub unhooked because I didn't know what any of the wires are for it. I would like to hook it back up.

98quiksilvergt
That's the only diagram I got. The tweeters should have a capacitor connected directly to the tweeter. (it's built in to the tweeter)
