Clutch Problem

Hello there my car was recently in a huge hailstorm here in phx AZ. It's an '06 Spec b and was driven to my friends house by my brother through high water. Anyway my girlfriend started to take it to a body shop to assess the body damage and the clutch went out.

 

Meaning when I press on the clutch pedal I can start the car and put it into gear but when I give it gas all it does is rev up no movement.

 

I realize this is probably a stupid question but could it have anything to do with the high water that it was driven through?

 

The car has 76000 miles on it and the clutch was working perfectly the day before and the entire time I've had it. (No grinding, whining etc.)
