Gire
There was a company that made a bunch of them for us way back in the day- on a group buy. Mine are still sitting in my garage in the box they were shipped in.... not yet installed.
legaru
yeah I stumbled on it, saw it was over, price is now $99.00 but worth it I played with a car that had them, very solid and smooth, had to have them

I'm interested in the overall length and the stroke length. Thanks.

Heytiggr
I just installed a set on my 05 LGT. Went on very easily and work great! In fact they are so easy to install, I had my 16 year old daughter do everything except for the actual drilling on the hood frame. Not her first time working on our cars with me but this was the first project I had her "lead".
Zephrant
This thread reminded me about mine, so I put them in last weekend (Redline). Works great, and it was neat to pull out the stick and clip mount. The hood does not quite open as much as before, but it should be OK. Don't make my mistake: I installed one side of the mounts then had to see how it worked, so clipped on the gas-spring on and tried it. Then I couldn't get the hood to stay up by itself with one spring, and it wouldn't go up far enough to use the stock stick so I could finish the job. The spring resisted my efforts to remove it, and I didn't want to break it, so I wedged up the hood and finished the job.
JMLegacy
BUMP is this still the best option out there?
legaru
http://www.redlinetuning.com/QL-SUBARU-LEGACY-OUTBACK.html Could not be happier with them. This was one of the best conveniences I put on my Legacy. One click of the front release and it raises. The only downside to these, that has not bothered me yet, is they don't raise the hood 'extremely' high. No doubt if I do some serious engine work they will need to be removed but hey that will be quick.
