failsafe, will do. I'm gonna have the templates cut out of 3/4" MDF panel hopefully today or tomorrow so I can test fit them and then do the programming for a set with the Legacy rears. I'm picking up some more material in about an hour so I'll just be waiting on the test fit for final production. I'll keep ya posted!

Bumper is one I designed and had my friend build as I don't have the tools to do so.

Scanyland, check Subaru and Forester forums for people dropping their 04+s and getting rid of their strut assemblies. Generally can be had for well under $500. I got my springs used from a member off one of the forums and struts were new from discount auto if I remember correctly. I spent more, but thats because I wanted new struts, not used.

so how do things such as the wheel bearings, and steering stuff hold up with lift and bigger tires... Thats giving the wheel and tire a lot more leverage on the bearings, which were originally designed for the wheels of a passenger car, much smaller i would think than whats on a jeep, or truck

Thanks, will check those places, just another quicky, do all I really need is the struts or do I need spacers and other equipment too, just want to get it right the first time.

If you look real carefully, you'll notice my car has a "pre-runner" or "gasser" stance. 1 inch taller strut blocks in the rear would have taken care of it but the prototype I got didn't fit so I'll just deal with it. I've heard that 1st gen Forester springs in first gen Outback struts will keep you level and taller than just Outback springs but not 100% sure. All I know is that the Forester rear strut mount is lower than the Outback which will limit your tire size but,to then again, my 215s are rather close to the rear wheel opening and rubbed in the front so....

amorgan93, the tire size is 1 inch over stock so I "think" everything should be fine. I know quite a few people who have the older GLs that are running 28"+ tires with no problems.

Forgot to mention I removed my rear sway bar as I didn't want to have the hassle of trying to lower it too (not very hard just lazy) and I wheel it frequently too.

Just finished lifting my' 96 BK and posting it here in hopes of seeing some more photos of other lifted Legos. '03 Forester struts with factory springs and 16" Forester rims with 225 60 16 tires. Tires just barely fit in there and will rub a little bit at full lock on uneven ground.

You can see it sitting stock in the background.

Here it is after the mods.

My first Subaru, I've only had it for 6 weeks but I love this car!
