ripcurl
Whenever I drive over potholes or reverse out of my driveway (there's a 1/2 inch lip at the bottom of the driveway), I hear a light clunk in the front driveline and it feels like there's something loose. I've looked under the car without jacking it, but haven't seen anything that looks out of place or broken. I'm going to jack the car up this weekend and take a look underneath. What should I be looking for? My car is a 2005 LGT with 144,000km on it.
notthesnail
So this is when one tire at a time hits a significant bump? Check the end links and anti roll bar bushings. I had the same thing and replacing the end links helped. There was still a bit of noise, but I haven't had a chance to re-torque them yet. And I have replaced the other two bushings, either. rexster
swaybar/end links tie rods LCA (lower control arm) bushings steering rack bushings I can pretty much guarantee you need new LCA bushings as those tend to start tearing right away. If you search this forum you'll find a ton of threads on the subject. But that might not be the only thing wrong.
