kevint147
hi i was just wondering if it was possiable to put a manual transmission on to an 3.0 h6 and if so what would it cost? Thank You
vr4Legacy
Is it possible? Of course, we have a guy putting an engine out of a Buick GNX into his LGT.... so ANYTHING is possible. As for cost....... depends on how capable you are. My understanding is that the biggest thing to overcome when swapping is wiring for an auto that lets the car know if its in D or P. There are two ways to do it, completely bypass it so it thinks it's in N and gives you free reign, or wire up a clutch switch and everything. And of course adding the proper mechanical linkages and pedal. It would probably be easier to put a 3.0r engine into a manual legacy, than swap a tranny. kevint147
thanks for the info .....how hard would it be to put a 3.0 in to a manual 2004 rs body and by that i mean matching up the tranny to the engine .....for example would i need a custom job or is it possiable for a 3.0 to bolt up at least one of suby's manuals? vr4Legacy
That's probably an easier thing to do, and I am pretty sure they match, because I believe you could get this set up on Outbacks with the 3.0..... but again I'm not sure about that.
