Bluetooth vs. WiFi for ODB reader?

It's time form me to order a reader. Which ODB reader is best supported? I've read that the WiFi unit has minimal security. Since I'd be leaving it on 24/7 I don't like the idea of someone being able to drive by and reprogram things.

But it looks like the Bluetooth one (which needs to be paired so might be more secure) may not be supported as well. My email to DashCommander asking this question has been ignored for two days now.

My goal is to be able to use it with DashCommander on an iPad and/or Windows box, as well as being able to get to the reader it from Linux at some point in the future.

I haven't found a Bluetooth one for the Apple anything (I have an iPad) but only the Droid.

Wifi is fine as all they could do is reset your trouble codes. I guarantee you that anyone fishing won't understand the data they are looking at and when they figure it out they won't care.

DashCommander is very nice but only reads one data source at time without dropping the refresh rate. Actually, it may not be a problem for me with Canbus.

Exactly, and in your case I'd suggest wifi and Rev instead of Dash Commander (unless you love the features and are ok with watching one gauge at a time).
