subobbyru
My friend works at a junk yard and got a 2.5rs Idk what year but the front is smashed in, I wanna know if the 5 speed tranny will fit in my automatic 2.2 legacy. And if yes what will I need to make this work
subikid90
Yes it will work. Depends on the year of the car. The transmission, tranny moun, clutch petal and hydraulic clutch stufft is the only thing you can take from the 2.5rs. You will need a legacy driveshaft from a 2nd gen. then I bunch of wiring to make it all tie together and work. It is worth it if you have the time. There is tons of info on the forums about this swap. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Zues Marine
impreza-legacy and also 2.5-2.2 is going to cause some gearing issues other than the standard 4.11 f/d ratio , 5th is going to be verrry tall

98quiksilvergt
Lol! Is it a 4dr? The 4 dr back seat will work. Not sure about the 2dr. You'll need to make sure your rear diff gear matches the trans gear.
Zues Marine
ya you'll need the whole driveline, rear diff, even axles wouldnt hurt
