timbaru
Just noticed a noise coming from my engine, looked under the hood and the crank pulley was wobbling. The nut was finger turnable so i tightened it back up until the crank started spinning, noise went away for a lil but came back because nut keeps coming loose. Is there a way to keep the shaft from turning while tightening the nut? Suggestions?
subikid90
You need to hold the crank with a crank pulley tool and torque that bolt down. Project_Legacy
Ive heard a few bad things about this when i used to own a first gen. Apparently if the crank pulley wasn't torqued properly, the keyway on the crank gets eaten up. Check that out too if you can.
LuckyBob
If it's a manual transmission you can also put it in the highest gear (not 1st) and torque against that. When I swapped my crank pulley on my Spec.B I just left it in 6th gear and was easily able to put 100+ft-lbs on it.
