c-lo
I have a set of 10+ year old Yakima cross bars. They are off my old outback and have not been used since I purchased the legacy. Problem is all the ends managed to get water behind the cap over the years and now the ends are rusted. I've peeled back about 3-4 in of the plastic and I've started sanding the rust down. I'd like to use these bars again, mainly to haul stuff. bikes go on the hitch in back. Is there anything out there other than rustoleum that I can use to spray on and protect the metal? i can take pics later today if needed 258k miles - Stock engine/minor suspension upgrades/original shocks/rear struts replaced at 222k/4 passenger side wheel bearings/3 clutches/1 radiator/3 turbos
MiniStiGuy
Have the bars powdercoated. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
Whatisit
^^ yes, powdercoating will be better then any spray paint. plus it's nearly impossible for it to chip or scrape away.

BAC5.2
Just make sure the powdercoat isn't too thick for the bars to slide into the towers.
