David E
If the cruise controlhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gif is set around 50 mph and you slow down to around 30-35 mph, engage the resume feature it down shifts and accelerates to 50 mph. It then holds in 3rd gear for a long time before shifting into 4th. Any ideas if this is normal or ideas on a remedy? 99 Outback Wagon, 2.5 with automatic tranny. Thanks. GTTuner
Probably just the way the trans is programed. I would accel a bit higher before re-engaging cruise just to get a smoother transition.
98LGTLover
In my '98 GT I can be going 50 mph and then re-engage cruise and it will go back to 70 mph without kicking down. I consider 50 mph to be low speed so I don't use the cruise around that speed.
Stang70Fastback
I never re-engage the cruise when I am traveling more than 5 mph slower than the point it's set, as in any car, it usually leads to hard acceleration. Just ease up to close to the same speed and re-engage it there. Otherwise you're just being inexcusably lazy, lol.
