Chevy Cobalt SS

But with forced induction, you get 200lb/ft of torque, at 4400 RPM, vs 143lb/ft of torque for the RSX which comes on at 7000 RPM (not to mention the 7800 RPM HP peak). So, by lowering the compression ratio and slapping a supercharger on it, they made an engine with more power available over the rev range, vs. a peaky Honda engine that you have to wring the crap out of.

This is what makes the Legacy so fun to drive, all that torque available down low.

Agreed. Lots of H.P is nice. Lots of torque is even nicer. These big power numbers at 7 to 8,000 rpm dont do me much good unless in flat out racing. In the real world ill take a fat midrange thank you.
