...but with leather?

OK all your LGT wagon experts...here's one for you!

(Note the car has no sunroof and the VIN indicates it's a GT wagon and NOT a GT Limited wagon) 4S3BP686754320514

As was my understanding (and also according to da '05 Subaru Brochure below) the '05 GT (non-limited) wagons

were ALL delivered with cloth interiors...(leather/perf. leather unavailable... supposedly on this model?)

Could this have been optional OR more likely was this swapped in by a PO later on for some odd reason?

Perhaps the dealership did this job locally, at original purchaser's special request?

Q: Does this leather interior match precisely the Limited interior or not?

Cheers@!

i'm not sure about if it is swapped or actually came on as an option, but it definitely looks like the real thing. it looks exactly like my limited leather interior, and it even has the heated seats controls below the shifter.

I must be a geek, huh?

What's interesting is that this is a Subaru Certified vehicle..as if they know something we don't?

Steering wheel controls only came on the automatic Rain, ...IIRC isn't yours MT?

Leather not shown an option (as one can see in the 05 catalog pic that I posted above)

Didn't both the limited and non come with heater seats with similar/same controls?

...the only differences being the sunroof (which is absent here) and the leather interior (either perforated or non perf.)

Maybe this car was submerged in Katrina... and later, since the cloth was ruined (and the car smelled foul of fish and motor oil?)

was just 'dried' out (for a few years?) in the back, and then later 'Certifiably' refurbished with leather, by this Subaru Dealership?

Could happen!

.I'd just say "to hell with it" and enjoy my unlimited w/ leather
What I really enjoy is giving the sales people all hell, as they try to determine the actual answer...by looking in the old brochures on the internet and then getting the price down to where it's more reasonable...and then comment ....'but i kinda like the cloth' (which I do@@!!)

Drives 'em crazy!

:D

Cheers, Moncur!

and power seats. The only other difference you're missing.

edit* If there is no sunroof - but leather seats, I'd say its safe to bet that the P.O. swapped their seats, especially if there are power seats in there. If manually operated seats, likely just a leather cover over the stockers.

Good call Scooby...I forgot the 8 way power driver's seat... but there's no way to tell here from the pics don't think?...

PS the passenger seat was only 4 way electrically adjustable...

I can say from this picture that the interior was most likely swapped. Notice the plastic piece missing where the seat belt anchor bolts to the passenger seat. This plastic piece is pretty sturdy UNTIL it needs to be pried off, then afterwards it just seems to fall off at will.

When I swapped interiors on my 2 cars, I needed to swap the seat belts also because I was doing a color swap, so I didn't need to remove the anchor from the seat as the whole belt assembly had to come out. But this car would be keeping the same color, so they probably just removed the anchor point from the seat and yanked it.

Yes, all seat heaters are in the same location.

I vote for the swapped in too.

I have an '05 Legacy 2.5i Limited, and the passenger seat isn't power, just the driver side, and I believe it is only 4-way at that. Might be a 2.5i vs. LGT thing, or it might be that you had leathers from a newer model swapped in.

Somebody's doing some swappin' ... trouble is we don't know what else was also exchanged!

Wish someone had swapped in leather on my Unlimited....

Don't you enjoy the extra headroom?

:D
