IanB Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Anyone here tried this? Just stumbled across it today, looks like you'll need the wiring diagrams to adapt it to our newer cars, but this could get rid of the FWD feeling I have when driving in the deep stuff! http://www.rs25.com/forums/f8/t99075-4eat-diff-lock-switch-handbrake-mod-torquemada-lite.html
underground000 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I wouldnt leave it in 50/50 all the time. I dont think the rear was designed to handle that much power over an extended period. Just like the 5eat cant handle 100% of the power to the rear wheels But in snow and stuff it should be fine and more fun!! 5eat downshift rev match:) Powder coated wheels: completed:)

I wouldn't either, just in low traction situations when it was warranted, but it would be nice to have the ability!
fishbone Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I am not positive, but I thought the 90/10 split on the 4EAT was a thing of the past. Does anyone have any concrete information if this still holds true nowadays? I know the 5EAT is 45/55.

Mine's an '05 and I didn't find out about the weksos 90/10 business until after I'd bought the car. I believe the newer ('08+ maybe?) 4EAT's have VTC/VDC and are a different ballgame, but if anyone knows better I'd love to hear it.
SpecBamf41 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 does anyone know where the tcm is in the 97 lgt BNR18g on 93oct
blaze741 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I have an 09 with a 4EAT and VDC. I'm pretty sure mine is also 90/10 front bias. There were a few older threads on here talking about this tranny.
BrandonJ 2001 GT Limited Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Wait a min...wtf digging up an over 1 year old thread....pfffft I've done it...getting ready to go to bed. I'll post up the difference I found from the RS25 writeup when I get to work tomorrow. PM me if you would like to remind me. DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT use this on dry pavement. You'll flock up your center diff clutches quickly since when it's locked you'll bind like a 4x4 truck, and they'll overheat. Has nothing to do with the rear diff, Rear diff can handle the power just fine. IIRC rear diff on 3rd gen LGT Limited w/ LSD is the R160. The 03/04 with sportshift are supposed to have the same center diff control as the WRX which does default to 45/55, I'll post about that too.
BrandonJ 2001 GT Limited Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 http://www.indianaimpreza.com/showthread.php?t=17590 <--my build thread IIRC the 00-04 Leggy TCU wire you intercept is harness A:(B54), pin A15. It's a Yellow wire with green stripe. And the 03/04 sportshift link - http://www.indianaimpreza.com/showthread.php?t=19474
