TS-R ''*HOLD'' dash light?

Hi,

 

I have a 95 TS-R in NZ. I have an orange dash light that is a snowflake followed by 'HOLD'. Could someone explain what this is for? Car is an auto.

 

Coolant and A/C are my first thoughts... any ideas?

Snow hold. Changes when the gearbox shifts etc to better cope with snow. Obviously it's an auto only thing therefore.
