Track Day at Second Creek Raceway, Denver, May 28th

One of the local car clubs I am in, RMCB5 (Rocky Mountain Club B5), has privately reserved Second Creek Raceway for a private track day with free lessons from trained instructors...including Rick Snyder...who is currently driving his SRT4 in the World Challenge. He just started racing this series this year, and is doing OK, but getting better and more competitive. He was just in Road Atlanta, and will be in Ohio next, a track he knows better.

here is a shot of him at Road Atlanta a couple of weeks ago.

so, our track day, a little history, we have done this several years in the past, and this is the 3rd PRIVATE track day. The link to the thread at our web page will provide all the info you need, so go check it out. There are still a bunch of spaces, but we are shutting down at 35 drivers...to provide the BEST driving experience for an entire day...including free instruction for 4 instructors, food, and prizes...all for $75 for the entire day.

I wanted to open this up to the local scooby folks for their chance to see how their times might be against the Audi/VW/BMW/MINI world. There will also be a GT3 Porsche there, and some others. This is probably the MOST fun track experience i have ever had....

I have invited the MINI Cooper club, MINI5280, and Northamericanmotoring.com. I plan on having both my MINI Cooper out there, as well as my Outback, and track them both. None of this is racing against each other, just sprited driving in a controlled environment...and learning skill. For those that know, this is a heck of a deal..$75 for a full day, instruction, food, and chance at prizes.

feel free to check it out, and sign up soon, everyone waits until the last minute...as they are doing now, but if you all want to get in before we cut it off, let me know, and i will get you in contact with Pat to make your payment.

feel free to contact me with other questions...

cheers

jon

Oh man oh man oh man....if I weren't selling my Z06....

Its nice to see a track day that allows passengers. I attended some meets at Buttomwillow outside of Bakersfield, CA. Only intructors were allowed to take passengers on the track. Urgh.

Well, its gone, so maybe you'll be seeing me and my new Red LGT at the track.

Damn this break-in period. If only these things were hand-built and pre-broken-in. Wouldn't it be a hoot to run the track, keeping the revs below 4k?

Yeah...or not.

bump, early registration ends next friday, and if any spaces are left, you can sign up then.

People are somewhat dragging their feet on this one, so if the money is not in by next friday, a week from today, we may not have the cash for the $2000 deposit to reserve the track that day. So, if you have been debating, sign up, if we do not make the minimum deposit, all money is refunded, so you have nothing to lose.

We will not be allowing people to show up on track day and pay, you must pay in advance to reserve your spot. If you have questions, contact Pat, the guy who has started the thread on RMCB5.com...see the link in the first post here for that thread.

cheers

jon

ps, there are several subie guys who are signing up this week, so the list will grow over the weekend, right now, there are 8 positions taken of the 35 maximum.

  • 2 weeks later...

As of this afternoon, only 2 spots left, if you want one of them, PM me ASAP so we can secure it for you...once those are filled, this event will be closed.

We have 2 instructors for FREE instruction for the entire day, and lunch is included, all for $75.

nope, no drop outs....still full and people are raring to go.

If you want to come out, it is free to watch and ride along. If you want, I am really seeking someone to drive my second track car out there so I can have both cars, maybe you can help me with that....and I will pay for you lunch and snacks.

cheers

jon
