joedirtae09 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 How bad did you mess up the emblem? Are you trying to get the original Subbie logo? I got an overlay for my trunk from Grafxerks. It was super easy to put on... Id def order from them again. http://www.grafxwerks.com/index.php
Mark34 Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 If you get a whole new part, I'd give you a few bucks for you damaged one as long as the posts are intact.

Where did you find this mod? I'd like to curb "is that a ford?"
SkyWalker11 Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 Where did you find this mod? I'd like to curb "is that a ford?" its pretty easy, you just need to pry off the trunk oval badge, i had my car out in the 100 degree heat for about an hour, some say to use fishing line or dental floss to loosen up the glue. but i found it easier to use a small pocket knife with a shammy against the paint of the car to prevent scratches. all you gotta do is just play with it a little and use some force and it will come off. there are 2 locating pins towards the bottom of the emblem (legacy 07) I would have been fine had i just removed the blue paint but somehow the previous owner had damaged the silver stars so i decided to remove the chrome paint as well, then i painted the stars white and the background black. once you get the emblem off the trunk though you still need to get the plastic glass part off the silver frame. some say drill a hole in the back and use a screw driver to press it out but i used a thin/dole kitchen knife and wedged it out of the silver part. I put the emblem in acetone to remove the paint completely but it seemed to have made the plastic a little more fragile cuz although it got rid of all the paint it made the plastic easier to crack. i still painted it and placed it on my car, it looks fine from the distance but if you're standing next to it, you can tell it has been tampered with.
SkyWalker11 Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 heres a couple pictures to give you an idea of what the emblem looks like off the silver frame. the plastic glass part is the painted part. in these pictures the blue is already removed and as you can see in the pictures, i dont know if it was because of the heat or what but the chrome stars where chipping so thats why i put it in acetone, to get every little spec of paint off (dont try that method) ill probably go to a junk yard and try to find another emblem and start over. only this time not remove the chrome stars. the third picture(with the black) is from the back side of the emblem
