Crooked Rain 1x1 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I have an 05 lgt that has a custom tune to an after market down pipe and sti up pipe. I have a full cat back on the car right now because I left it on when I had it made. Now, my question is. Should I be running my stock exhaust cause thats what I am tunes to? I would think obviously yes cause im not getting any extra power from my after market cannon. But am I hurting my car at all?..... also can anyone point me in the direction of a walk through on changing the AC and Power steering belts? Any help is incredibly appreciated!
E-Tank Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 A CBE does not require a tune, although another tune may yeild a few extra hp. It's really just a noise mod anyway. Although with a cattless DP the added exhaust flow of a 3 inch CBE could potentially create boost creep issues. Nothing a little logging couldn't determine. I put a CBE on my car after a stage 2 tune for a while with no problems. I wouldn't worry about it. To replace the belts loosen the belt tensioner. It should take all of 5 minutes.
Crooked Rain 1x1 Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 thanks. Yea I don't want to tune just for an exhaust so I'm waiting till I get my FMIC and new turbo. I'm interested in how I could log the data on my car, do I need something to connect to my car's ECU? And as far as the belts, I got them done the other night. Yea would have taken 5 minutes but the replacement ac belt was too small and wouldn't slip on even after raising the pulley allthe way.
