SilverGSX Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 So I've noticed something (99 LGT AT wagon) while I've been driving my GT. Sometimes, when chugging either up an incline or when the motor is being put through it's paces I can hear a rattling sound (not a heat shield) and the car seems a bit sluggish. The only thing I can think of is that the innards of the catalytic converters is rattling around and it's somehow affecting flow? I don't have any CELs and there are no exhaust leaks to speak of. Any ideas? or is it just my Suby making funny noises and the auto trans doing a good job of making it sluggish? It doesn't seem to do it all the time, only really feels sluggish when it's making this rattling type noise.
kaz98gt Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 rattling type noise...have you tried the good ol' rubber mallet technique?
CDKJudoka Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 It could be pinging an pulling timing. Could be bad gas, dirty injectors, etc... Sent from my Mighty Dream using Tapatalk 2014 Legacy 2.5i 6M - FB25 w/ a 6 speed 2002 Impreza 2.5TS - EJ251 w/ a 5 speed (The Stormtrooper)
