I melted mine from my aftermarket headers so I am looking to replace them.

I know a couple companies make heavy duty ones for rally racing but I just want something metal so it wont melt thats as light as the oem plastic. If that's possible.

Any ideas anyone?

There is only one under panel that I know of that is aluminum and is considered an under panel and not a skid plate and that is the GT Spec under tray

Personally I suggest the rallitek skid plate. Its heavy duty aluminum and it cost less than the GT Spec.

I'm hungry:bbq:This burger is never gonna cook.

Yes they are a lot of money and with shipping your adding another $60 to $80 on top of that, but its totally worth it and with your aftermarket headers it probably necessary. I still have stock headers and my under tray is slightly deformed.

Here is a link where I purchased my skid plate(rallitek)

I've had 2 oem plastic 'skid plates' ripped from my car from road debris. Right now I don't have one, but I'm planning on the rallitek soon.

whoa, dr_sharp...what did you drive over? I just cried a little thinking about something being ripped out from under my car...

Don't drive in San Antonio. This city has the worst roads, the worst drivers, and the most road debris of any city I've been to in my life. I've seen tires, wheels, hubcaps, shopping carts, etc. in the middle of the interstate loop that circles the city. It wouldn't be so bad if it were well lit and straight. But half of the street lights are out and it has many curves, hills, bumps, etc.

For me, i was heading home one wintery day when i attempted to pass a semi tractor trailer, that when his trailer decided to shit a bowling ball sized snowman. I hit it, and in return it stole my factory plastic skid plate. So to show my appreciation i purchased the Version 2 RalliTEK skid plate. I believe and dont hold me to this but i was one of the first to actually purchase the plate and install. if i wasnt then i was the top 5 or so. so it was relatively new to the LGT forum. But i cant say one bad thing about this plate. it has successfully decapitated rabbits, and squirrels. It has taken that abuse and then some. there are two holes in the plate which enables you to change your oil easily. in addition i put on the fumoto valve and now an oil change takes only about 15 minutes.

OTM.

I have one of the early RalliTEK front skid plates and have been very happy with it.

You should be able find a new OE front under cover online for $75-100 and then apply adhesive backed heat barrier over the areas where your headers had melted the previous plastic one.
