SATSFYD
So quick question... I thought that the auto tranny fluid (5EAT)was red in color... was the tranny fluid from the factory white, tan or a different color than red ? **There are two types of people in the world, those who build horsepower and those who buy it. fishbone
Not quite blood red, more like a cough-syrup cherry red. Here are some pics http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/transmission-fluid-too-darki-91087.html?t=91087

fishbone
Then you are fine and definitely not overdue unless you mercilessly beat on it while towing a trailer uphill in 100*F temperature. Do a drain/refill, do two if it makes you feel better and keep up on drain/fills once about 20K or so. I plan on doing it once a year, cheap insurance. If you can do an oil change, you can do a drain/refill. Get a long-neck filler funnel, T-70 torx bit, crush washer, 5-6 quarts of OEM ATF and the rest is straight-forward. integroid
I have never seen tan ATF fluid. My wife's car had 100K miles on it and it still came out cough syrup red.
fishbone
My wife's car Yeah, what about it? Your wife's car, how would the ATF get burned if she is always in the kitchen? Joking aside, I have posted my own account a few posts above.
