axis008
I found this picture while surfing a Japanese Legacy shop site (http://www.emotion-fuk.com/) and came across a customer's car (http://www.emotion-fuk.com/custyu-.htm). He had this: http://www.emotion-fuk.com/yu-0071.jpg Sorry for the small picture, but that's all they had. I wonder how easy it would be to retrofit this on our Legacys? -ben
Guest *Jedimaster*
Wow- that's really neat! I've been thinking about something like a clock in the little useless display in the overhead console. The little passenger seatbelt icon located up there seems like a waste. I'd like some sort of digital display or something in that location. axis008
Hmm, too bad about the angle perspective. I like Jedi's idea of placing it in the overhead area where the seatbelt thingy is. Thanks, gt_ltd, for posting more pictures and information. -ben
axis008
For translating tools, try this: http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en or this http://world.altavista.com/. Of course it will be broken English, but it's worth a try. I used the Google one to go Jap > English, didn't really read it, but hopefully you can get a general idea. -ben
John M
That's exactly where I'm putting it in my car. I've already cut it out of the upper dash to make room for the carputer display. It'll get bondo'ed in to look just like that pic except black instead of silver. I should also have four USB ports flushed in above it.

Greg_STL
I've seriously considered this because it would open up space possibly fitting 3 guages in the cubby space or an aftermarket lcd without losing the computer display. What I really want to do is put a defi-display and controler in a custom mount plate in the cubby spot (w a boost guage in something like the pod that AVO was going to offer. Anyone smart enough to set up a group buy on these I would definitely be in for one.

OCDetails
From what I can get out of some of the translations is that its only 10,000 Yen. That's less than 100 dollars US. Not bad... I'd pay a hundred bucks for that. It seems that everywhere I look they say that you can't really see it down there. Cool place to put it, but not if you actually want to read it. tbunch35
I think that one of the pictures illustrating the relocated clock also shows an AC control panel that seems SEPARATE from the radio. If someone could find the part number for THAT, then all of this cubby hole modification stuff would be obsolete, as you could put any head unit in the console that you wanted. Does anyone know anything about the Macintosh head unit offered for JDM, and whether it has aux inputs?

Does anyone know anything about the Macintosh head unit offered for JDM, and whether it has aux inputs? I see you are new here. You are correct, that that pic shows the radio seperate from the A/C. It is the Japaneese version. It is a single zone a/c verses our dual zone. There is actually a Japaneese audio cataloge on this site somewhere. I was just looking at it last night. tbunch35
Are the single zone controls incompatable with the dual zone mechanics? I would probably give up the dual zone system in favor of using a different audio head unit.
Fosgate
Not too sure if it is compatable, but I am sure it will be too expensive of an option. Would you be willing to pay for a new AC unit that would likely cost close to $1,000, plus cost of shipping from Japan. I wouldn't
