Checking pad wear

stock pads have "squealer tabs" on the brake pads. Once that metal tab touches the rotor during braking, the brakes will squeal. That tab is a noise indicator that your brake pads are low and needs replacing very soon.


If you dont want to let the pad go that far, just get 14mm ratchet and take the bottom caliper bolt and the caliper will swing right up. After that, you can see the pads' thickness.
