bocalu99
So when the mechanic had my car up on the lift today he noticed my "center support bearing/mount" needed replaced. HE showed me and where the rear drive shaft attaches to transmission, there is like several inches of play, and the rubber bushing thing is coming apart. The mechanic tells me that apparently i have to get a whole new driveshaft- u cant jus replace the part on the end that is bad..and with install its gonna be like $750. That feels ludicrous for a essentially piece of rubber. Does anyone know what i am talking about and if this is true? Or can i just replace the bushing (he called it a bearing and mount but it looks jus like a bushing really to me). And doesnt that sound kind of high, even if i did hafta replace the whole shaft? GTTuner
Here is my advice; If you had no symptoms and the car is not broken, don't fix it. You can buy the driveshaft assembly new from Subaru for about $599.
