jdmhatch08
Ok so another bump in the road, the original layout we had planned was not gonna work, so my welder has the headers and is gonna cut and weld them to connect to under the cross member. Soo will updates will come later after we get this finished up. The saga continues!

Flat4
Hey guys I got a question for you experts. I just bought some X02 cans for my 2.5i and my question is how loud are these? I bought my 2.5i myself even though I'm 18 but I know my parents will get mad if I throw mufflers on it will my dad notice? he is not a car guy at all and when I put rims and HIDs on my car he never noticed. So if I don't throw these now I will put them on this summer when I move out for college.
CDN 2.5i
They'll definitely be louder... but not obnoxiously so. More low tone. They'll sound pretty good. Easily noticeable I would think, as in right when you fire it up. But, if they don't know cars, they might not?
N.sane
Based on the X02 video on the first page, it seems pretty subtle, kinda similar to my AVOs. It's definitely noticeable, but not obnoxious.
CDN 2.5i
just ordered gimmick cat back exhaust for my 2007 2.5i just use cans or mount whole system? I'm running the full cxlighting exhaust (same as GMS). I had to have an adapter piece fabricated to mate my '05 cat pipe to the mid. The mid was too short. You could get some decent money back selling the brand new mid and Y if you wanted... The GMS midpipe isn't resonated like cxlighting and you'll likely have quite a bit of drone as a result. I had to add a second resonator to mine but the wagon suffers from drone more than the sedans. I'd also coat the cans before you install assuming you get salt in Jersey... they'll get surface rust pretty quick otherwise. Easy to do when new and off the car, less likely to get done after the fact.

Noticeable enough for a person who's not paying attention and knows nothing about cars to notice? Im hoping that as long as I don't give it too much gas while leaving the house, they won't notice. Neither of them ever ride/drive in my car so thats not a problem I may just try my luck and bolt up.
N.sane
Oh, if they never ride in it then the chances of them noticing will go way down then lol.
jdmhatch08
yea, i would say the only time they could notice is right at start up when it kinda gives that big vrrooomm sound but then it quites down and your all good in the hood

GEE-OTTO
N.Sane i want to clarify something: I want to let all the 2.5i guys know the the LGT mufflers are LARGER than the 2.5i mufflers. They are slightly larger to flow the increase exhaust gases and velocity more efficiently from the Turbo guys and the EZ30/6R guys. I always overlooked this fact due to them being a direct fit. I predict that they will sound decent when paired with a UEL manifold. I will confirm this Monday after i leave Mach V's shop

93turbo2
Where did you find them at ?? Found them over at horsepowerfreaks.com, had to call them to make sure they had them in stock. Quite pricey for axle backs but I love the exhaust note.
SpidermanMTL
Hello, Sorta new to the forums.. I have a question about the 2.5i Mufflers.. it may be silly but I can't find a definite answer. From Exhaust to Muffler what is the size? 2.5" or 2.25" and Is the muffler a Center-Center or Offset-Center. Yah I know I could stick my head under my car but.... I don't have a driveway and there's 3 feet of snow everywhere.. So any hope would be appreciated.. Thanks in Advance. sulk
The exhaust is 2.25 iirc Not sure about the muffler, but if you're talking about the pipes in and out positions, pretty sure they are in the same spot/ center-center.
nrankin81
I've gone to Flowmaster, HKS, etc. website to look for mufflers for my 05 legacy. I haven't found any mufflers that fit my subaru. What size mufflers do I need? Is there any custom work that is needed to put these mufflers on?
