Debadging?

I would guess that they are just sticky. That would really piss me off if they were the post kind. I guess we won't know until we try to pry them off our cars. I will probably wait until somone goes first :D

Hopefuly there are no holes, but I'm almost positive that they'll just use ahesives (most likely a sticky double-sided type material). Dental floss and goo gone seemed to work the last time I debaged a car.

If that's the case, DM, that will be cool... pretty easy. I hope they are just adhesive, because if they are, I will debadge on Day 1 of ownership. :)

I will know on monday when mine comes in. I will do day one pics...Pick up.. stock GT..next day.. STI SS..Potenza RE750s and debaged. I don't want the extra subaru logo or the 2.5GT badge.

My '03 leg wagon has posts, you have no idea how that pissed me off. I think the car manufacturers put those there to make sure you advertise their product.

They probably put them there so the install looks clean and straight. I doubt they care much what you do, they just want their logos to appear straight and true.

I went to the dealer today to check them out. They look like they are just adheasive strips. But, then again... No one will truly know till they try to take one off. Oh, and I also got more dealer B.S about my car...to be posted on my thread.

When I get mine, I'll take the panel off the rear hatch and see what's up.
Not the round logo...the one that says SUBARU on the left side. I want my Leg to look as much like the JDM model.
I'll probably do the same, the JDM model looks a lot cleaner without the extra Subaru lettering and 2.5GT badging. I could care less if it makes it more "sleeper" style. :P

I've never debadged but like the look.

The goo gone should clean up nicely, taking off all of the remaining adhesive. Maybe I can do a write up?

Use a heat gune or a hair dryer and the adhesive will relax quicker and the emblems will be easy to pry off with a nylon scraper ore a drivers licence/credit card.

There is nothing to debadge on the car unless u want to take the Sccoby badges off and put STi but there is nothing on the car here to state GT or whatever !

Gee, thanks for the Heads Up DM, It is near impossible to tell a POV pack from the GT unless yr infront. I have no idea why Oz decided to go the HUGE sleeper model in this way. Maybe the GT STi is coming sooner than we thought....... Getting off my knees now ......

Apparently we care more for designation between models. :?

Well Im not sure why they have chosen this path with the NZ and AUS models but everything has been badged correctly prior, like the RX to the WRX etc. I think it would look a bit bizarre if I was to place a GT badge on myself, hmm then again Scooby might be waiting to place a GTR badge on, that could be interesting ........
So has anyone gotten to this yet? I've been waiting for a guinea pig and am thinking about doing it this weekend. :?:
I know that I will be doing it when I get my car. I will probably leave the 2.5GT on or perhaps just the GT on. I know that you won't have any problems as historically Subaru just uses tape or adhesive to stick on these badges. Good Luck! Report back!
