Scooter
Mazda 6? I had a 2003 briefly and really liked that car. Seek first to understand, then to be understood. In other words: SEARCH before you post!

ehsnils
It's always tricky - and the constraint of 2003 and newer is also something to consider. It's possible to find older cars that are good and interesting too. A few alternatives:Volvo 960.BMW 325ixVolvo V70xc.Audi A4 or A6.Nissan Maxima - as someone stated somewhere else.Alfa Romeo.Dodge Caliber?Ford Focus - if those are available in the US.Honda Accord.Kia Magnetis.Mercedes E-class?Mitsubishi Lancer.Saab?Suzuki Grand Vitara?VW Golf GT or GTi.Volvo S60. The best thing is to test drive a car to see if it really feels right. If it doesn't feel right - don't buy it, you will just feel sorry.
LegGT24
Volvo S60R is nice. I would also look into a Saab 92x.
