coldradio1
So I've been trying my hardest to pick out a set of wheels and I think I've narrowed it down two sets. The first set I'm not worried about. 8.5" and a reasonable offset. But, the other set is 18x9.5 et 38 and I'm kinda worried about fitment. I checked out the wheel fitment guide skicky thread and +38 seems to be the optimum offset but the tire recommendations seem a bit off to me. I don't see how you could fit 255s without rolling the fenders. I don't mind running negitive camber and I don't mind rolling my fenders, however I really do not want to pull my fenders. I hate the way pulled fenders look and that is that. I know Mr. Cakes old wheels had the same offset and specs as the wheels I'm considering. In this pic of his car, I can't tell if his fenders are pulled or not. I know they are rolled, but pulled I'm not sure. http://i598.photobucket.com/albums/tt70/roadrace3/IMG_6335.jpg I hope he doesn't mind me using his car as an example. The second issue is the tire choice. I know I can run 235/40 tires and have the same stretch as above. But, could I run 225/45 tires and have a little extra room to prevent fender pulling? Any advise is greatly appreciated. BTW, I'll be running coils and am planning on running low.
BrownBoy
Rolling AND pulling will be absolutely necessary if you want to run lower and the wheels at the stated specs.
rurouni_x
I have the same wheels on 255.35.18's extensive fender modificaton is needed, roll, pull, and some cuting. Also it depends on haow low you want to go and on what kind of suspension.

0verboost
I have had 18x9.5 +30 with 225/40/18 and definitely needed to do some pulling. Here is a pic of the 18x9.5 setup http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597/4167895905_8c89a57a45_o.jpg Here is a pic of my current setup on my car with 18x9 +30 235/40/18 http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4023/4227238772_8683959734_o.jpg

0verboost
overboost. Do you think that a 18x9 et35 would need pulling? Depends on the height you want it at. I had already pulled the fenders awhile back and it was needed for as low as it used to be. You might get away without pulling the fenders if you are at a good height. derffred
Bump, I'm debating wide wheels as well. 18x8.5 with the correct sized tires (don't want to stretch the sidewalls). I'm lowered on Tokico Struts/Swift Springs. Any assistance would be great.
whitetiger
^you will want a +48 or less offset and you can fit 245/35/18 with a moderate fender roll. if you want to fit a 255/35/18 tire you may need a +45 offset and more of a roll and lots of camber. derffred
You know any reputable shops in North Jersey to roll fenders?
brooklyngenius
If you cant tell that Mr Cakes fenders are pulled then how can you say you dont like it? mr cakes. rurouni, overboost, and myself (like we are the real low offset crew or something) all have rolled pulled frnders and frankly unless you point it out or know you dont notice theyve even been pulled.http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b240/brooklyngenius/Legacy/DSC_0315.jpg useless signature line where i cant mention my sponsors "First Bagged BL5!"
