HarryN
http://www.herald-mail.com/?cmd=displaystory&story_id=235643&format=html&autoreload=true Bill Scott, the owner of Summit Point Raceway died December 7, 2009. The man has an awesome history on how he started up Summit Point Raceway. I feel really bad the poor guy passed away. But he lived a life he dreamed of. And that is rarely accomplished nowadays. My only worry is what is going to happen to the track now. I know politics are heavy and heated there, especially when I was racing there in my PCCA days. Let's hope that whoever takes ownership of the track is not a jackass and keeps in mind the racers and not politics of the track. *salute*
KartRacerBoy
Sorry to hear about this. I used to go to the track in the 80s to watch racing. Watched some guy roll his race set-up Ferrari Daytona in the mud at turn at the end of the main straight. Politics in racing!?!?! Heavens to Betsy! oddseth
Sorry to hear of his passing. I have been to several track events at Summit Point in my last 2005 GT and hope that things are still the same when my spec.B is ready to run once the weather gets nicer. It is a great and challenging track and the only one convenient to DC/MD/NoVa folk.
