IAmMissJackie
Didn't see much on this when I was looking around for intakes so I thought it would be a good idea to post up about it. It took about an hour to do the install last night and it was pretty easy to do. The hardest part was getting the trim seal around the corner of heat shield. Here are some pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/65915f25.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/e83b03d7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/843ecc6d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/418982cb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/5d5cf5c9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/3a93d7a2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/9a3f136f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/02fb80b0.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/08cd6e0a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/548dd6a2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/3b926c87.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/847c02c8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/e9391449.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/cde52446.jpg Old and busted: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/1487942b.jpg New hottness: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/-_JaxXx_-/Intake%20install/65eb8335.jpg It's pretty loud compared to stock, but I think it sounds great. You can really hear the turbo spool now. I might post up a sound clip if I can find my camcorder.

94sportsedan
I'm sorry, but a girl that works on her own car goes straight to #1 on my sexiest things list. Enjoy the new sucking sounds that K&N makes!!

bushman33
Ya, the sound of the K&N is pretty addictive. I still haven't gotten a tune yet either, and I've had mine on for about 6 months now. I'm still waiting to get a Cobb AP or Tactrix. Still not really sure which way to go. Keep us posted on how your tuning goes. Agreed, it's cool when females get into cars and tuning. IAmMissJackie
I think it would be more beneficial in the long run to just tune it myself. I plan on adding a couple mods here and there every couple of months, so getting the cable would allow me to fine tune it as I go along. Plus, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than an AP and would allow me to spend that money elsewhere for my car.

Balrock
I would def. get a tune for that thing. MAF scaling is pretty important. I would get ahold of Infamous1 for a E-tune. He does GREAT work! You can see the difference here. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124407 The dyno was before the retune, but you get the idea. Just be sure to datalog. shaneomac1602
yes, very sexy. i have been debating if i was going to install my typhoon intkae now and retune it later, or just wait until i can get it retuned. im leaning towards just putting it on now. ugh, i hate the forums. always making me want to do more to my car

m sprank
I have the MAF scales you all need for the K&N Typhoon. The voltages were measured with a WB 02. The table is a very good starting point. The MAF scaling tool in RomRaider is all you need to dial it in perfect from there. The tables you need are attached. Oh, and ladies who do their own mods are pure HOTNESS!Stock vs Typhoon Maf scaling.csv

m sprank
All are welcome. The tables were given to me by another member. I am just sharing the love shown to me by another. I have personally used the tables to dial in my Typhoon (stage 2 car). They are a very good starting point. In my car, I had no knock and was within +/-10% in all MAF ranges right away. A few highway trips using RomRaider MAF scaler and I am within +/- 2% in all ranges.
94sportsedan
Can you use the k&n typhoon with Cobb OTS stage 1 or 2 safely or no?
m sprank
No. MAF scaling is different and the farther you are from stock the more dangerous it gets. Using a Typhoon with an OTS map will cause an extreme lean condition. I think you can get the streettuner software from Cobb and adjust the map yourself. Shoot me a PM if you need help. Its very easy. If you can log, you can scale your MAF. I have instructions (with pics) in PDF format on my netbook (used for logging). I'll get it out of the car and post up the instructions for you. -Mike Darn file is too big to post. Shoot me a PM with your email and I will send the instructions.
