RedDawg
used ecuFlash to load a stage 1 map tonite. test write to ECU was successful. write to ECU was successful. but then when i unplugged the VAG/com cord, unplugged the green pass side connectors, and went to start the car (let it sit at 'ON' for 10-15seconds) my CEL is on, the cruise light is blinking, and im getting 'er HC' on my odometer. tried restarting the car numerous times and the same 3 things pop up. Any ideas? I have to go to work tomorrow morning (~40miles one way) and can't have the car die on me.

RedDawg
what about resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 10-15min? could that reset the error code?
RedDawg
it drove fine into work this morning so maybe it's throwing a false code? I kept it under 3k rpms the whole way in, it heated up fine, sounded fine, revs at idle appear normal, etc. I'll swing by an autozone around 10 when i have to run out for a meeting and see if they can read and reset whatever code it is. John M
Did you make the map or download it? If so, it looks like you grabbed the wrong ROM. Always copy the donor maps over yours. Be wary of just dropping the whole file onto your ECU.

RedDawg
when connected, and those top buttons light up, i clicked "Test write to Ecu". it proccessed it, said it did it successfully. then i clicked "Write to Ecu" and that completed successfully. RedDawg
got a new tune emailed to me from my tuner. it now lists 'MT' as the trans. so here's hoping that everything gets straightened out after i reflash it tonite.
