KCwagon
I thought I would share my install of my Zeitronix wideband 02/boost/egt gauge. I found the unit used for $200 from a guy on Nasioc. I contemplated other LGT gauge options but none seemed very stealthy. This unit retails for about $400 on their website. I checked the dimensions online and realized (hoped) it would fit in the cubby, it did. You can close the door to the cubby with it installed=stealthy. It is, I believe, a really cool alternative to A-piller and steering column mounted gauges. Here is the unit pre-installed : http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/zeitronix.jpg I disconnected the battery and began taking apart the center console. I decided to tap the power for the unit from the cigarette lighter under the console. http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy007.jpg I removed the cubby to drill an access hole in the back to run the wiring from the display unit. The display unit attaches to control unit via a cat 5 cable. Here is a pic of the access hole. I drilled it just large enough to accomodate the cat5 cable. http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy006.jpg http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy005.jpg I mounted the control unit in the back of the passenger foot well with high strength velcro. I found a grounding point at the base of the foot well also. http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy011.jpg I installed the 02 sensor in the downpipe. I have a Cobb down-pipe which makes this process very simple. http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy010.jpg Next I used a T-fitting from the auto parts store to connect the boost sensor to the vacuum at the BPV. I secured the boost sensor to the firewall and ran the wiring along the firewall next to the other factory wiring. Next I connected the 02 sensor to the harness and ran it close to the existing main factory harness in an attempt to make the new harness look, well, factory. I then removed the firewall grommet (if you want to call it that) and carefully fished the wires through with a cable. This was the most tedious part of the entire project. With a few deep breaths and a beer (optional) it goes pretty well. http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy009-1.jpg I then replaced the cubby, secured the wires and console and re-connected the battery. I then crossed my fingers and started the car. It worked. Here is the finished product. http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss178/shoneal55esp/leggy012.jpg All in all I am pleased with the performance and value of the unit. I am currently porting and tapping an exhaust manifold to accept the Zeitronix egt probe. This is a $90 unit and is completely plug and play. After I am finished I will have a stealth, $300 system that displays my AFR, Lambda, Boost and EGT's- in a unit that fits behind the cubby door (closed for mother in law, open for brother in law....not bad)
finse
Nice write up! I am considering going with this unit, although I am not sure where I will be able to place the LCD display...

sleeper8406
Can you use this with open source software for data logging...(romraider and the like)?
KCwagon
I believe so. I know their data logging software is available free from their website. I am using an AP version 2 - so that feature does not help me that much. I paid $200 for the whole set-up used. I believe these units are $399 new. They continue to add features and there is a new, larger display unit that allows you to see the info in gauge form. You can even customize the electronic gauges to look just like the factory gauge cluster.
KCwagon
Update on the datalogging with the accessport. Accesstuner will allow you to log AFR's from the Zeitronix unit (as well as other wideband sensors). This is especially nice when e-tuning a vehicle where the tuner requires an accurate AFR reading.
