Dacaveman
So I had a little incident with a curb the other night. Basically I have to replace my entire rear suspension on the drivers side and who knows how bad the front is. But I ended up cracking 2 oem wheels. So I find it to be the best time to go ahead and upgrade my wheels. I am looking at buying the rota torques 17X8 or the rota d2's in 17X8.5. The car is a legacy gt 2008. I will have to order the wheels tomorrow so I can try to get my car rolling again asap. Here comes my question. I have hanhook ipike w409's 225 45 17. From what I have read they aren't a perfect fit for the rota d2's 17X8.5 but I know they will work if they stretch a bit. But will I lose a lot of performance and tire life if I run them on a 17X8.5's? From what the sticky says I will not have to roll the fenders. The car is lowered on cobb springs. Also will the wider wheel put alot of extra stress on the suspension. From what I have heard it will put more stress but I am curious to how much it would be harming the wheel bearings and other components. Dacaveman
Ok well 225 45 17 will fit that wheel but legacy brakes don't clear 17 d2's
nKoan
Yeah, I tried the 17" D2s a while ago when they first came out. I made a thread here too about it, but its hard to search by 2 letters here. Anyway, 18" D2s will fit. But, if you've already got tires, I'd look at the torques instead.
