THE RZA
with the hopefully upcoming winter, I was thinking about holding some meets up at Mountain Creek either on a weeknight after work or on a sunday. The Pro's to having it on a weeknight is we can all meet in the same area since it wont be nearly as busy, its also much cheaper for the non season pass holders to ride during the week than it is on the weekend, usually about $30 for a night session. the cons...its a weeknight, not everyone can make it out. If we have it on a sunday, sundays are usually really busy there and we wouldnt be able to meet in the same area most likely because the parking lots are set up weird and they have idiots telling people where to park on weekends. but the Pro to that is more people are able to make it out on sundays. I would like to lean towards having a meet on a weeknight first, see how it goes, I'm a season pass holder and im usually up there 2-3 times a week, so if we have enough interest and enough pass holders here, maybe we could make it a weekly meet? any interest? -John
bisbers
I'd be interested - don't have a season pass this year + I got work, but hopefully I could make it occasionally. Are they doing the triple play this year or does anyone know of any still available deals on tickets or season passes?
blakout
plus if its a weekend you have to do deal with every asian person in jersey learning how to ski and getting in the way. I live not even 2 mins from the base of creek and i seriously want to murder everyone there walking across the street in the winter. the summer is about 1000 times worse though even with me living that close though....i still dont ski or snowboard though. used to go when i was younger until i broke 3 ribs there
THE RZA
I think they're still doing triple play passes up until christmas, that's usually the only time they do them.

bisbers
I used to go there a few times a week, however I haven't been there since they turned South into a giant park. I both ski and snowboard, however I don't spend all day in the park, plus the park crowd could get beyond dangerous. South/Bear used to be less crowded with a more friendly type of personality. One year they turned south into a giant park + nearly doubled the season pass price. Haven't been back (Camelback or Vt/NY/NH instead).

tito_b0y
LOL! Come to think of it, all of my Asian friends are on that bandwagon since last winter. They brought me along last season for snowboarding once and although it was fun, I don't think I'll be going again this year. HAHA....nah, Im talking about the ones straight from fort ree that decide to have little meetings right at the bottom of the slope. These are the same ones that speak maybe 5 words of english and take over karaoke nights at all the local bars. Yeah, as you can tell the natives of the area cant stand them. But their women were always fun once they get drunk.

Pelican on rt 10? I bet they have all their stuff out, I gotta stop by next week to check it out. Mtn creek has been blowing snow like crazy and also receiving some good ole snow from mother nature. It was a bit pricey, came out to be around 450 with everything, including the base, the bars, and the racks. It has two locking systems so no one can take the roof rack or the boards out of the snow/ski holder. I figure its a good investment now since the car only has 3,500 miles and I plan to keep the car for a good while.
THE RZA
i hear ya dude, I was at creek today pickin up my pass they seemed to be in full force with the snow making. I went to pelican today as well ended up buying a new board. I have 2 boards one to use at creek and only creek usually its something cheap and i have my nice board for going to vermont, colorado etc. I'm selling my old beater board for like 80 bucks if anyone is interested its in the non-car classifieds. so i guess we could use this thread to figure out who snowboards and who wants to arrange days to go to creek? blakout
Creek was supposed to start blowing snow last saturday night but they didnt because they wanted a 24" base of artificial and then natural on top but since we got 8" last saturday during the day they didnt blow. They were holding off blowing but since we are supposed to get even more (on top of yesterdays 5" of snow then ice) they had to start blowing. Because of this past weeks conditions I foresee shitty conditions at creek all winter long.
THE RZA
Yeah I'm used to it. By now, last year it was all ice and no fun. Whenever I end up going to vermont or new york I'm the only one not freaking out about a 'shitty' condition because creek is always icy and sloppy. blakout
I drove by creek yesterday and they were blowing snow all day. Only thing I want to warn you guys with, yesterday we got nailed with sleet all day so odds are, creek is going to be a sloppy icy mess for the first few weeks. Hopefully it doesnt get too crowded quickly and we can get some real snow. They are saying a chance of snow on wednesday though
