red98lude
Feel free to move this if it is in the wrong section or delete it if nobody cares but I wanted to share my recent dyno results with other 5EAT owners. 2008 LGT 5EAT with Cobb catted downpipe and protuned by Doug at TopSpeed. The car feels much better than stock but already I thinking a turbo upgrade might be needed this spring.
RIPjeep2002
hey. those are nice numbers. I'm getting my 09 protuned by cleo at precision in march as soon as I get a cobb dp and tmic. looking for those same numbers myself. how does the 5eat feel? red98lude
So far it feels great, better than when it was stock. The Cobb stage 1 flash smoothed things out a good bit compared to the stock tune but the downpipe and protune are great. Shifts are crisp and smooth but I don't beat my cars. Even when I had the STi I wasn't launching at every stoplight it it could take a lot more than this car could.
scoobydoobie
Nice, DP/tune are your only power mods?

red98lude
Nice, DP/tune are your only power mods? Yes, running 18 psi tapering to 13.5 on 93 octane.
RIPjeep2002
How does it feel so for on the 5EAT? Is she handling that torque ok?
red98lude
How does it feel so for on the 5EAT? Is she handling that torque ok? The feedback that I have been getting from tuners and performance shops who specialize in Subarus seem to think the transmission will be fine. When discussing hitting 300whp and 350wtq they suggested getting a transmission cool but didn't really thing the VB mod was required. Obviously even at this point my transmission probably won't last as long as a stock car but that is part of the risk. It seems some people have issues at stock power levels and others are fine with 400hp. Probably a combination of driving habits with a good bit of luck thrown in.
