Beef_Weezle
I recently bought an 8000k H7 HID kit online and have been dying to install them. I did a little searching and found that by unplugging the infamous white plug under the dash, it would disable my DRLs. It did disable my DRLs, but it also disabled my high beams. My car does not have fog lights. Did I unplug the wrong thing? Is there a way to just disable the DRLs? My car is an '07. It seems they changed the setup a little for my year as opposed to previous years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Beef_Weezle
Never mind...It took a lot of searching (nothing came up for '07 DRL disable), but I found that snipping the blue/black wire on the white harness did the trick. I hate snipping wires, but trying to remove the pin from the harness was a massive whoremonger, and I got frustrated. The HID kit is awesome. I put 9005 Silverstar Ultras in the highbeams. Love the result.
EquinnoxX
Correct, cutting that blue/black wire will disable the DRL's on 07's. Sorry i didn't see this earlier Pix of the HIDs? Been meaning to get around to doing it myself ...
Beef_Weezle
Here's the pic. It's from a crappy camera phone, but trust me, they look bada$$. I bought them from xtremehid.com ($67 shipped). You're also gonna want to order a relay harness (another $20). Mine flickered without it. It seems they can't draw enough power from the factory wiring. Regardless, they're a heck of a lot brighter than the factory halogens and are much easier on the eyes. Go for it! When I finally get around to putting fog lights on my car, I'm gonna retrofit them with HIDs, as well.
