cfdrumr
I have had the Jazzy kit for a while and its great but I never liked how stupid it looked and how many cables I had to use to use everything... I decided I was going to find a way to integrate everything without spending a lot of money. I wanted to use the dock connector for the line out on my ipod/iphone as well as the ability to charge my device when its playing. On-top of that, it needs to look clean and OEM. Here are all the parts needed: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-y6QgbQ9jLlE/p_113IP301V/Kenwood-KCA-iP301V.html $29.99 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102671 $5.39 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_142IP2IN1/Scosche-iPod-USB-Charger.html?tp=34707 $19.99 Simply run the 1/8" cable from the jazzy kit to the center console. Plug in the USB charger to the 12v in the console and then plug the USB cable from the Kenwood Harness into the charger. Take the coupler and plug it into the end of the Jazzy 1/8" cable and plug the 1/8" connector from the Kenwood Harness that says "Ipod Audio" and you are set. There is also a video 1/8" that can be converted to RCA and used with the OEM NAV if you have it... I do not. You are done! Run the thick Kenwood harness through the cutout on the console. It looks totally OEM and works great. The sound will be better because you are avoiding the headphone amp in the ipod and using the line-level output. If you are using an iphone, you will get the "Not Approved Accessory" screen but the harness works great with no feedback, and when you get a call, you simply answer it and speak normally as if it was not plugged in. 05lgt5spd
i bought this little guy that has an ipod connector on one end, and a cig lighter/charger on the other. On the top of the cig lighter, it has play, pause, ff, rw. and on the side of it, it has another cable for the aux in. All in one assembly. legacy2.5GT05
Do you have a car mount for your iphone/ipod? i'd like to see a pic of your setup. that cord doesn't look very long for ipod/iphone.
05lgt5spd
I just have it plugged in in side the center console, along with my aux in from my jazzy. Then run the belkin cord out to where the slider/drink area is. Cord is probably 3ft
Rancid
I'm using the following: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011UK2HE/ref=ox_ya_oh_product][/ame][ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011UK2HE/ref=ox_ya_oh_product] http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011UK2HE/ref=ox_ya_oh_product[/ame] [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RNNWHC/ref=ox_ya_oh_product]Amazon.com: Griffin Noise Reducing Audio Cable for iPod, iPhone or MP3 player: Electronics[/ame] [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007FGUF/ref=ox_ya_oh_product]Amazon.com: Cables To Go - 03170 - 3.5mm Stereo Coupler F/F: Electronics[/ame] The Kensington LiquidAUX charges the iPhone and connects to my Jazzy aux-in. It also comes with a nice remote that attaches to the steering wheel. I can get in my car, connect my phone, press play and listen to my iPod app. The remote also has skip track buttons. Its the best solution IMHO.
05lgt5spd
The remote on the wheel is cool, if its wireless. Either way the belkin and ^^^ do the same job. Rancid, that looks like a pretty sweet setup
