vtmiller13
I have an opportunity to pick up an '09 Legacy 2.5 GT. Has approximately 40 miles on it from test drives. Been on the lot over a year and the dealer is asking $26,182, marked down from the original price of $31,849. Has the security system, dimming mirror, and VDC. Think this is a good deal? I'm trying to determine if I have any realistic chance of negotiating the price down... BTW this will be my first Subaru. The test drive was fun fun fun. bakabakablah
Depends on where you're located I guess. In SoCal that price is a bit high since dealers are still asking ~$26k for a 09 Spec.B. Have you tried looking at Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book, NADA, etc.? It doesn't hurt to ask the dealer if they'll take a lower offer... chances are, (as far as I know) if it's been on the lot for a long time they'd be willing to let it go for a bit cheaper in order to make room for new inventory. Syndicate
...just a guess, but are you looking at the Diamond Gray GT that is up at Moore/Richmond Subaru?
F-WDC Spec B
You might be able to get it lower. Someone from NJ just gota new spec b for $31K after tax, tittle, etc...
DrCloud
Wait until next Friday and then go in with a lower offer. Apparently, Black Friday is a good day to get a deal on a car. HPH
ClimberDHexMods
New flash: The sticker price on a car that has been sitting in the dealer lot for an eternity is NOT THEIR LOWEST PRICE. But if you don't know what you're doing from a buying/negotiating standpoint, you could easily pay over that marked price anyways. In fact, I recently had the privilege of meeting a salesperson who said with a very smug face his record was an STI for $46,000. Point is it's not about the car, it's about YOU, the buyer.
